MegaMart After Dark

Set in MegaMart Warehouse, a membership-only giant wholesale supermarket on the outskirts of Ohio, USA, the store is locally famous for its bulk-sized goods, budget-friendly prices, signature freshly-made sandwiches and perpetually long checkout lines. Every night at 11 p.m., once the store closes and all day-shift staff clock out, every product on the shelves quietly awakens, gaining self-awareness and human forms to embark on their absurd nightlife within the empty supermarket. They jostle for prime shelf spots, compete over daily sales figures, rant about customers, dread expiring shelf lives, and even form small internal cliques. Maggie, a socially anxious college student, lands her first night-shift stockroom attendant job and stumbles upon the supermarket’s best-kept secret by accident. Forced to become the only human privy to this truth, she juggles stringent KPIs set by her rigid manager while mediating all sorts of ridiculous messes stirred up by these dramatic merchandise every night. Then a corporate headquarters directive arrives: a massive clearance of slow-selling stock scheduled to take effect in 30 days. Every underperforming product facing the bottom of the sales rankings will be pulled from shelves and destroyed. The once rowdy, bickering goods are suddenly forced to face this absurd survival trial.
